AIM OF THE PROGRAM
Rapid developments in the world, increasing competition, the current situation of communication and transportation technologies, and the restriction of the price range of the final product created the need for raw materials, inventory in the process, final product, or related information to reach to the point of final consumption from the point of origin in an efficient and cost-effective manner in order to satisfy consumer needs. The fact that these needs can be met in the most effective, fast, and efficient way has contributed to the emergence of the concept of "Logistics". The logistics is defined as the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the movement and storage of materials in the supply chain - from the starting point of the raw material to the end point of consumption- services and information flow in both directions to meet customer demands. The concept of logistics has emerged due to the distance between buyers and sellers. According to current Turkish dictionary of TDK (Turkish Language Association); logistics is expressed as the effective and efficient planning and implementation of the transportation of all kinds of products, services, and information flow from the point of origin to the point of destination in order to meet the needs of individuals.
